Basil's Foods is a specialty foods company inspired by family and a passion for eating well. Basil Hadjis, a lifelong chef, opened his first restaurant at the age of 21. He brought traditional Mediterranean flavors to Cedar Rapids, Iowa using family recipes dating back to the 1930's. Over the course of four decades, he passionately created food that was balanced, flavorful, and hard to forget. Generations of families were brought up on Basil's cooking, and customers often would tell him that, as they traveled the world, they could not wait to return to Cedar Rapids for one of Basil's specialty dishes, salads, or pastas. Along the way, Basil created his own seasoning blends, which he used at his restaurants.
