Barnett & Associates, Inc., formerly One Call Inspections, was started in 1982 by its owners C. Dwight & Debby Barnett. Once the owners of Barnett Construction Co., a Home Building & General Contracting Company , Dwight & Debby opened the first Home Inspection business after realizing the needs of home buyers in and around the Evansville area. In the early 1980's home buyers were starting to educate themselves on the "ins and outs" of real estate and wanted to know more about what they were buying. They wanted an unbiased opinion from someone with real life experiences in the home building and remodeling industry. Barnett & Associates, Inc., was the first home inspection company in the Evansville area to provide this service and has been an industry leader since the company began. The company currently has three employees and has performed well over eleven thousand whole house inspections. Dwight Barnett is a Master Inspector, ASHI Certified Inspector No. 703 and has a weekly home improvement column "Home Fix" in the Evansville Courier and nationally in newspapers and online through the Scripps News Service. Damon Barnett is a Purdue graduate mechanical engineer with an MBA and over 15 years experience in home inspections. Beside being a thorough home inspector, Damon is a leading consultant and verifier for home builders or individuals wanting to construct energy efficient homes or apartment complexes. Debby Barnett is the company's president, office manager and is one of the company's founders. Debby takes care of all the day to day operations of the office in addition to scheduling appointments.
