Established in 2011. Barhop Brewing has a rotating tap selection of home brews, as well as guest taps, wine and hard cider. Our pizza is a home made sourdough crust everyday, with home made sauces, and highest quality meats cooked in our 800 degree stone oven. We are right on the water downtown, with a beautiful view of the straits. About our Brewer... Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Josh cut his teeth on beers like Rainer and Olympia. It wasn't until he picked up his first home brew selta, in 2011, that he realized that beer could taste good too! Soon IPA's like Elysian Immortal and Rude Parrot from 7 Seas Brewing made a permanent impression on his style. He opened a nano brewery with an emphasis on hops and flavorful beers. Two years later, he was hired as the new brewmaster for Barhop Brewing and is able to share his point of view with a larger audience. Full flavored, malty hop bombs are his specialty. Come try a pint! Like many native Californians, Tom struggled with all the rain in the northwest until he figured out what to do with it: start fermenting it! And so Barhop Brewing was born. On brew days, you can hear Tom brewing to the tunes of Pearl Jam, Bob Marley, The Greatful Dead, Led Zeppelin, and so on. Tom's California beer- drinking youth provided him with a strong affinity for the pioneers of micro- brewing, back when Sierra Nevada, Pete's Wicked, and Mendocino Brewing were small craft brewers. Decades of drinking beer- and specifically micro- brews - have contributed to Tom's brewing pedigree. Currently he is a big fan of Elysian and Russian River Brewing, and these companies have influenced his brewing style which he calls "aggressive California- style ales, with a Northwest twist, using fresh Northwest ingredients." As of 2016, we now have Josh B as our head Brewer.
