At the core of Barabbas is the sensibility of Theatre of Clown with the aim of creating a truly modern sophisticated form that is relevant to its audience of today and in the future. Barabbas sees itself as the leading Irish Company in theatre of clown, which supports its unique form of physical storytelling. Established in 1993 by Raymond Keane, Veronica Coburn and Mikel Murfi has since then produced over 25 major theatrical works and presented at venues and festivals worldwide including the Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Wellington International Festival New Zealand, The Kennedy Centre Washington, Festival of Arts and Ideas New Haven Connecticut, Expo 2000 in Hannover Germany, Dublin Theatre Festival, Galway Arts Festival, Greenwich + Docklands International Festival and at venues throughout Ireland, England, Wales, the US, Denmark and France.
