One of Sydney's most established venues, Bar Broadway is an icon at the "Student" end of the city. In 1885 the bar was purchased for 4,600 by Tooths & Company, then called the New England. The hotel was rebuilt twice in 1908 (when it was called The Westminster) and 1940 (Sutherlands hotel). The bar had a thriving atmosphere in the 40s when Broadway was the social centre of town.
