Ballarat and Queen’s Anglican Grammar School fosters the pursuit of excellence by providing its students with a broad liberal education of the highest quality, in the Anglican tradition.
The School is situated on an extensive parkland campus near Lake Wendouree and hosts a flourishing community of learners, boys and girls, attending Ballarat Grammar. Over 200 students live in family-oriented boarding houses. The School’s focus on the education of the whole person, and engagement with wider communities, locally and globally, develops thriving, happy, well-grounded individuals intent on establishing their pathway in the world.
The youngest will enter our new purpose-built Centre for Early Education at age 3. Year 7, at the commencement of secondary schooling, is the other major entry point, and boarders enter in Years 7 – 11.
In the Anglican tradition, positive relationships underpin the growth of academic, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing within a highly-developed pastoral care program. Breadth of endeavour is important, and high-achieving students are active in academic extension pursuits, as well as in music and performing arts, sports, outdoor education, and community service.
Watsonia Heights Primary School is situated in the well established north-eastern suburb of Greensborough, in the city of Banyule, sixteen kilometres from Melbourne. Opening in 1966, the school grew quickly with a peak enrolment of 914 students in 1970 and a low of 210 in 1995. The 2009 enrolment is 243. Our school community strives to provide a positive, stimulating learning environment which caters for the needs of each student as they develop as individuals. Watsonia Heights has successfully implemented the Early Years Literacy program and Early Years Numeracy program. In 2002 Watsonia Heights became an active member of the Grimshaw Innovation and Excellence Cluster. This middle years project investigated developing strategies to improve student engagement, as well as teaching and learning outcomes. Watsonia Heights adopted these innovations school wide. In 2008 Watsonia Heights became a member of the Banyule Mini Cluster Network Group, which continues our focus on advancement in teaching practice and curriculum.
