Baldwin Pergolas Information

Baldwin Pergolas designs and manufactures custom fiberglass outdoor structures from a 68,000-square-foot facility in Middletown, Connecticut. We have been doing this, without interruption, since 1987. We began with cedar lawn furniture — a line of original designs built for the middle market that the box stores and specialty shops both missed. Those designs are still in production today. From there came cedar pergolas, then fiberglass pergolas in 2008, when it became clear that engineered materials were where commercial architecture was heading. We have now built over 500 cedar pergolas and over 500 fiberglass structures. We know what lasts. Today we work almost exclusively in pultruded fiberglass reinforced polymer — a material that does not rot, does not absorb moisture, and does not require the maintenance cycle that wood demands. As long as the finish is maintained, the structural substrate does not age. We have projects from fifteen years ago that look the way they did on installation day. Our clients include Toll Brothers, AvalonBay Communities, Sunrise Senior Living, Marriott, the Ritz Carlton, and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. We have also built pergolas for homeowners who simply wanted something that would still be beautiful when their grandchildren use it. We do not advertise. Our work comes from repeat clients and referrals — which tells you more about how we operate than any marketing copy could. For architects and specifiers: we provide PE-stamped engineering, five-sheet CAD drawing packages, CSI MasterFormat specification text, and an online configurator that generates accurate pricing and a downloadable DWG.
