We serve the communities of Milford, Grandview Plaza, Junction City and the Fort Riley Military Reservation. Over 75% of our students have a connection to Fort Riley Army Base. These students are highly mobile and very engaged. The districts mobility rate can exceed 65% in any given year. However, USD 475 has found ways to be extremely successful. We have seven federal Blue Ribbon Schools, well over 115 Kansas Standard of Excellence Awards (unfortunately the state will not award these anylonger because NCLB is going away). We have at least 6 schools that have been recognized by the federal government as Distinguished Title I schools and have had at least 8 schools recognized with exemplary academic performace by Kansas Governors.
Our extraordinary academic performance can be directily attributed to our great families, students, staff, administrators and board of education. We work as an effective team and as a productive family. The school district has won many school level awards as well as individual staff awards in the past 10 years. We are one of the most highly decorated schools in Kansas.
