Bahia Mineração is a Brazilian company that started its formation in 2005 with a pioneer project in the State. The undertaking, called Projeto Pedra de Ferro is intended to produce 20 million tons of iron ore a year, be one of the most modern mining companies worldwide and contribute to transform Bahia state into the third largest iron ore producer in Brazil. PEOPLE who work at BAMIN represent one of the three pillars that sustain the company, which counts on two support bases: SUSTAINABILITY of the business, grounded on environmental preservation and economic and social development of the region and the communities where it operates; and OPENNESS that follows and provides credibility to the activity. The Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), one of the chief producers of natural resources, holds the stock control. With over 20 successful years in the mining area, the company counts on a portfolio of production assets and development projects in 14 countries, crossing four continents and employing around 80 thousand people. We are aware of our role as a mining company and understand that it is currently impossible to build a company of this size without focusing on the sustainable development of our business. Our Sustainability Policy is based on international social-environmental performance standards from the Equator Principles which comprise biodiversity protection, adoption of mechanisms for pollution prevention and control and occupational safety and health systems, among others.
