Caribbean families and diaspora communities often face emotional challenges shaped by migration, natural disasters, economic stress, and long-standing stigma around mental health. Yet culturally grounded emotional wellness resources remain limited and difficult to access. Bahali is a nonprofit organization expanding culturally grounded emotional wellness resources for Caribbean families and communities. Our mission is to reduce stigma around mental health while increasing access to practical, culturally relevant tools that support emotional well-being, resilience, and healing. Through storytelling, education, and community-centered initiatives, Bahali helps individuals and families navigate everyday emotional challenges while strengthening community well-being. Our work includes: • Children's books that support emotional development and disaster recovery • Emotional wellness education for families and communities • Culturally grounded mental health resources • Community partnerships and outreach initiatives • Tools that promote resilience, healing, and collective well-being Bahali believes emotional wellness should be accessible, culturally relevant, and rooted in community strength. Founded by Dr. Marsha Smith, a clinical psychologist and social worker, Bahali works to expand culturally responsive mental health education and emotional wellness resources for underserved communities.
