Bafochi Information

It emerges like this on May 21, 1987, as an independent artistic company, called Ballet Folclrico de Chile - BAFOCHI. It forms the essence of Bafochi, a high percentage of folk roots, a high sense of the show, of a universal character, which is transferred and visualized in each of his works, keeping the legends, ceremonies, traditions and customs alive, thus becoming in a real experience for the viewer. On Tuesday, May 13, 1987, Professor Pedro Gajardo Escobar is exonerated from the Ministry of Education. On Wednesday 21 of that same month, he created the Folkloric Ballet of Chile, BAFOCHI. There were 15 first members of this Company, 10 dancers and 5 musicians. The path was not easy, but the mystique and the desire to do different things in the field of folk music and dance, allowed that since then BAFOCHI has made more than 5,500 presentations and showed their artistic work in more from 950 cities, from 40 countries in Asia, Africa, America, Europe and Oceania. Where he has obtained more than 100 international awards. With 31 years of history, BAFOCHI managed to form a solid team, composed of an Academy with over 1,000 students and three superior teams that allow them to project the artistic level of the company with great optimism.
