Badminton Victoria was formed in 1932 and is the peak governing body for Badminton in Victoria. It comprises of over 80 member clubs, associations and venues with over 7,500 registered players and over 100,000 casual participants. Vision Statement Badminton is recognised as a fast, exciting sport for all ages and abilities that is played in most schools and leisure centres and many purpose-built facilities in regional Victoria and Metropolitan Melbourne.

Badminton Australia is the national sports organisation charged with overseeing badminton in Australia. Badminton Australia, in partnership with its Members, the State/Territory Badminton Associations, is responsible for the management and sustainable development of the sport nationally and the management of relations internationally through the governing body for the sport, the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Established in 1932, Badminton Australia became the eleventh member of the IBF (now BWF) in 1936. Badminton Australia is an active member of the Oceania Badminton Confederation (OBC) and is affiliated to the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) and Australian Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA).

The VBCA provides an important role in the community by developing and providing opportunities for people who are blind or vision impaired to enjoy the recreational and social benefits of cricket. Additionally, the VBCA participates in cricket matches against sighted opposition in keeping with the philosophy of integration and working to remove barriers and isolating influences of having limited vision.
