Both sisters are Auburn University graduates who moved back home to the family farm in Eufaula. As young children Cassie and Allie grew up around all sorts of crops: cotton, peanuts, soybeans, corn, grain sorghum, wheat, and cattle. Their family managed a peach orchard too. That is what inspired them to start their own orchard. It took a few years of planning and dreaming but soon became a reality. Backyard Orchards opened on April 10, 2010. In October, they planted 3 acres of strawberries (about 43,000 plants) with
