Backpack Brigade Information

Backpack Brigade is the largest provider of weekend hunger bags in Washington State. We partner with local schools in King County to serve homeless and food-insecure kids in need. Every week, 150+ community volunteers prep, pack, and deliver bags to 107 schools and 5,300+ children — each containing three breakfasts, three lunches, three dinners, and three snacks — ensuring kids have the food they need to thrive when school doors close for the weekend. Every Thursday during the school year, our volunteers pack bags of nutritious, easy-to-eat food and drop them at area K-12 schools, where they are distributed to students in need. Powered by volunteers and strengthened through donations and sponsors, Backpack Brigade aims to provide better food to more of Seattle’s hungry children each weekend.
