Most roads look ordinary, but the materials used to build them do not have to be. At B2SQUARE, we developed B2PURE®, a bio-based alternative to conventional petroleum-derived bitumen for roads and other demanding infrastructure applications. The idea is simple: Two components come together where they are needed, creating an instant bitumen tailored to the road, the local conditions and the requirements of each project. This gives builders greater flexibility in how and where the binder is produced. In addition, producing the bitumen closer to the point of use, reduces reliance on long and hot supply chains, supports lower production and application temperatures, and creates safer working conditions for the people who build our roads. Moreover, B2PURE® stores CO₂ and is designed to last longer than conventional bitumen.
