Founded by award-winning poet/performer and stage director ahdri zhina mandiela, BCurrent Performing Arts was created to provide space for Black artists to train, explore, challenge mainstream notions of theatre and engage with the community. For over 30 years, BCurrent has been home to boundary-breaking Black storytelling. We're a Black-centred arts company creating innovative joyful work that expands the possibilities of Blackness for national audiences.
