You are probably wondering, Who the heck is Ayli and what is a data score? Ayli was created by 4 individuals just like you: Boomer, Brandon, Mitchell, and Kai. We all come from different backgrounds, but what unites us is a passion for solving problems intelligently with sincerity and integrity. As we went through college in sunny Southern California (seriously it’s awesome here) we slowly became aware of numerous activities that online companies do that just don’t seem right. So, we started to dig. You may know that Google is the largest data company in the world. But did you know they own a timeless license to the information they collect such as your name, what you’ve searched for, what websites you’ve visited, how long you visited for, and that just scratches the surface. They claim your information and sell it to make billions, even when you stop using their services. Did you know that Facebook is projected to make close to $50 billion this year monetizing your personal information harvested from your likes, posts and pages you participate in? Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and other social media companies do the exact same. In fact, almost every digital device or service you use leaves a trail of data somewhere, regardless of your privacy settings. Our intention isn’t to scare you with this and tell you to delete your Facebook account, stop using the internet, and hide in the woods for the rest of your life. We simply think people should be given the ability to make informed decisions about the products and services they use and the effect it has on the vulnerability of their information. Like you, Brandon still isn’t going to throw out his Android phone, but he’s made an informed choice and understood the potential impact of his actions.
