AXA Middle-East and Visa have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the issuance of the first insurance credit card in the Levant, to enable easier transaction and customer service. This decision follows months of field studies and a trial period of one year to ensure the feasibility of providing this service. Mr. Ramzi Saboury, Visa Lebanon Country Manager, announced: "We, at Visa, are always looking for a way to improve our services in the field of electronic payment, in order to provide secure and convenient services to the customers of our partners in all sectors. Given our market position as a leading innovator of electronic payment products, we are pleased today to launch the first insurance credit card in the Levant region, in partnership with AXA Middle East, a pioneer in the insurance sector. We are quite confident that this step will ensure greater ease of use and security to customers and promote the shift from payment by cash to electronic payment". Mr. Ramzi Saboury, Visa Lebanon Country Manager, said: "At Visa, we are committed to working with our partners to constantly develop products and services that make cardholders' everyday transactions more convenient, reliable and secure. Visa has always been an innovator, from creating the first general-purpose credit card to making possible the next generation of payments and services. We are pleased to enter the insurance sector through the development of the first Visa joint credit card in the Levant region. We are confident that this is a step towards ensuring enhanced security, convenience, and ease of use to customers and further supports the continuing shift towards electronic payments from cash." Mr. Roger Nasnas, President of AXA Middle East, said: "We are confident in the future of the Lebanese economy. In line with the policy of AXA Middle East that focuses on progress, modernization and openness and seeks to diversify, facilitate and create new services to our clients, we have established this agreement of cooperation with the leader Visa to further our relationship with our customers based on mutual trust, thus reinforcing the values of AXA: professionalism, innovation, integrity, keeping promises, honoring commitments and team spirit, especially considering that our company has been in Lebanon for more than 100 years.
