AvioConsult is an independent aircraft expert and consultant. AvioConsult offers aircraft expertise and consulting on operational aspects like performance, flying qualities and airborne systems to aircraft buyers and owners, aviation and simulator companies, accident investigators and as an expert witness. AvioConsult was trained at one of the four major Test Pilot Schools in the world and has over 15 years of experience experimental flight testing fixed wing and rotary wing airplanes. Following reading many accident investigation reports, AvioConsult concluded that pilots use the minimum control speed (Vmca) of their multi-engine airplane different from airplane design engineers who used Vmca for sizing the vertical tail and from experimental test pilots, who determined Vmca in-flight. This difference resulted in many fatal accidents; the conditions for which Vmca is valid are not passed on to pilots any more. AvioConsults presents several (free) papers on the downloads page of its website for pilots and accident investigators to improve aviation safety.
