Over its 38-year lifetime, Avert reached hundreds of millions of people around the world with inclusive and empowering information to support their sexual health choices. Following a successful handover of our core brands Be in the KNOW, Boost, and Himarika to organisations in East and Southern Africa, Avert's programme work ended in December 2024. Avert has now ceased operations, with the official process of charity closure expected to be finalised by November 2025.
