Avert is creating a fast and accurate way to screen athletes for concussion. Up to 1.2M sports-related concussions go unreported yearly, we believe this is because the only system for reporting is players and coaches. While self-reporting is needed, it can be incredibly subjective. Our smart scale works like a digital scale, but while players take their weight we measure their balance. If we see specific signs of a concussion we send an text alert to the coach telling them this player should see a doctor. Behind this product is a team with over 10 years of experience building products for large corporations all the way down to small startups, and a board of advisors with over 80 years of experience from companies like Microsoft and Philips Healthcare.
