The "Australian Infectious Diseases Research Centre" (AID) was established at UQ in 2011, and became a collaborative research initiative of UQ and QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in 2012. AID will allow us to help drive this critical research field nationally. AID will provide a beacon for the attraction of talented infectious diseases researchers both nationally and internationally to QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute and UQ, enhancing critical mass and expertise housed within the centre.
