The Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity (ACLEI) is a small independent agency within the Attorney-General’s Portfolio. ACLEI was established to support the Integrity Commissioner to provide independent assurance to government about the integrity of Australian Government law enforcement agencies and their staff members. We perform an important oversight role by undertaking four core functions: - We receive and assess notifications and referrals of alleged corrupt conduct by members of Australian Government law enforcement agencies - We conduct investigations into serious and systemic corrupt conduct - We support our partner law enforcement agencies to conduct their own investigations - We prevent corruption through engagement, support and identification of vulnerabilities. The office of the Integrity Commissioner and ACLEI are established by the Law Enforcement Integrity Commissioner Act 2006 (the LEIC Act). The Attorney-General is responsible for the administration of the LEIC Act. The Integrity Commissioner investigates allegations of corruption in the following agencies: - Australian Competition and Consumer Commission - Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (including the former CrimTrac Agency and National Crime Authority) - Australian Federal Police (including ACT Policing) - Australian Prudential Regulation Authority - Australian Securities and Investments Commission - Australian Taxation Office - Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) - Department of Home Affairs, including the Australian Border Force, and - prescribed aspects of the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. Other Australian Government agencies can be prescribed by regulation under the LEIC Act. LinkedIn is not a place to report corruption.
