Auerfilms Information

Auerfilms is an independent film and television production company founded by award-winning filmmaker Stephen Auerbach. For more than three decades, Auerfilms has pursued stories with a strong human center — stories of obsession, endurance, mystery, memory, ambition, loss, and lives lived at the edge of the ordinary. The company’s work has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, A&E, Discovery, TLC, Lifetime, Universal Music and other major outlets, with more than 200 hours of television and documentary programming produced for audiences around the world. Among its best-known projects are the A+E documentaries The Secret Tapes of the O.J. Case and O.J. Speaks: The Lost Deposition Tapes, built around rare and previously unheard archival material. The films premiered back-to-back in more than 125 countries as part of an unusually ambitious global release for A+E Networks. Auerfilms also produced and directed the feature documentary Bicycle Dreams, which grew from an independent film into an international theatrical and social-media phenomenon. The film won 17 film-festival awards and became one of the most successful independently distributed cycling documentaries of its era. Other projects have included Race Across America for NBC, In Search Of..., World’s Most Amazing Videos, and the Universal Music release Glen Campbell Sings for the King, created from a cache of long-lost Glen Campbell recordings discovered by Auerbach. Auerfilms continues to develop film, television, documentary, music, and original storytelling projects driven by curiosity, character, and the belief that the most compelling stories usually begin where certainty ends.
