PRS for Music represents the rights of songwriters, composers and music publishers in the UK and around the world. As a membership organisation it works to ensure that creators are paid whenever their musical compositions and songs are streamed, downloaded, broadcast, performed and played in public. In 2024, we collected a record £1.15bn and paid out £1.02bn in royalties to our members, making PRS one of the world’s leading music collective management organisations.
PPL is the UK music industry’s collective management organisation (CMO), licensing the use of recorded music in the UK and collecting royalties on behalf of performers and recording rightsholders around the world. As a leader in global rights management, we help to ensure that those who invest their time, talent and money in creating recorded music are fairly compensated when it is used in public, or broadcast on television or radio.
In 2025, our annual revenue reached £315.3 million, an increase of 4.75% year on year. Last year, we paid more than 182,000 performers and recording rightsholders (including record companies, self-releasing artists and musicians), with 16,000 receiving a payment from PPL for the first time.
