ATIEC is the Ecuadorian Association of Translators and Interpreters. It is a private non-profit institution, and it is the first association of its type in our country. It was created in 2007 and one of its goals is to bring together the largest number of translation and interpreting professionals, either Ecuadorian or foreign professionals, working in Ecuador. Its purpose is to defend the interests of our profession, and promote continuous and quality training and ethics among its members, and improve work conditions, in general, by educating clients and the general public. Its members are professionals who have local or international accreditation in several language pairs, and constantly attend training courses and workshops. ATIEC currently has 35 members and is growing every day. It is recognized by both the private and the public sectors.
