Athito was formed in 2003 in response to a gap in the insurance market for niche project management services. It now employs around 35 consultants and has a turnover in excess of £4m. The Insurance practice has grown to be recognised as an industry expert in the provision of insurance consultancy services, it has grown substantially over the past 11 years and delivered projects in the UK, US, Bermuda, Europe and the Far East. Athito’s clients include leading insurance groups and 5 of the top 10 Lloyd’s managing agencies. Athito provides interim management resourcing to support insurers, brokers and MGAs delivering strategic change and new business projects, as well as the provision of long-term resourcing for the management of day-to-day business-as-usual activities. Athito also undertakes acquisition management, due diligence and post-acquisition integration projects. Its comprehensive experience across all areas of insurance operations provides a unique capability to establish, run and improve client’s insurance businesses. Since 2010 Athito has been involved in the approval of the majority of syndicates that have migrated from a “turnkey” managing agent to their own independent managing agency. In addition to this, Athito has also been involved in the formation of several new stand-alone syndicates, a number of new MGAs and service companies and the change in permissions approval process for a number of managing agents. As regards delivering business change and effective working practices, Athito has delivered a multitude of projects for insurers, coverholders and MGAs. The projects have helped to improve efficiency, defined and delivered target operating models, identified appropriate systems and implemented them and provided end-to-end operational management.
