Athena's Workshop Information

Athena’s Workshop is a subscription-based interactive K-12 homework platform that will have text reminders for homework and projects, an integrated calendar and electronic homework submission using any cell phone with texting. The big advantages of texting are that 97 percent of text messages are read and responded to within five minutes. Texting is used by all socio-economic groups, including low income, African-American and Hispanic families, making it a universal way to reach all students and parents, many of whom do not have smart phones or broadband access at home. We will allow teachers to securely remind students the same way they talk to their friends, via text, but without knowing the student’s phone number. Because we want to bring technology to all students, low or high income, rural or suburban, students will be able to submit homework with any cell phone, smart or dumb phone, and know their grade by start of the next school day.
