Based at its 25,800m2 site in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, AstroPine is less than an hour's drive to the Port of Tauranga, and to the largest renewable Pinus Radiata forests in the Southern Hemisphere - Kaingaroa, Central North Island. AstroPine's high-quality mouldings, window liners and door jambs are manufactured from the finest environmentally-friendly radiata pine specifically for the construction industry. Its precision-machined, treated and primed pine door and window frames are exported to wholesale buyers in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, as well as the United States, and to domestic markets all over New Zealand. The timber re-manufacturing company source its raw materials exclusively from FSC - Forest Stewardship Council - accredited suppliers that ensure the responsible and renewable management of forestry resources are at the forefront of the industry. In its more than 7500m2 of buildings and storage facilities, AstroPine employs 38 staff who work with modern milling equipment and in an onsite painting and priming facility to produce its export-quality products. The company prides itself as an equal opportunity employer and its principles are built on four cornerstones of the business - customer service and satisfaction, high-quality products, health and safety of staff, and compliance with workplace and environmental regulations. AstroPine took over and bought the business from Timber Finishes Ltd in 2012 and were previously based in Mount Maunganui. A much larger site was needed and in 2016 AstroPine moved to its current site in Ngongotaha, Rotorua.
