Asthma Coalition of Long Island Information

The Asthma Coalition of Long Island is committed to following the New York State Asthma Plan 2006-2011, developed by a group of experts representing healthcare, physicians, hospitals, managed-care organizations, public and private health partners, and led by the New York State Department of Health. The five strategic goals are:Seamless, evidence-based, patient/family-centered asthma care exists for all New Yorkers with asthma. Disparities in asthma diagnosis, treatment and outcomes are eliminated. "Asthma Friendly" communities exist in New York. Policy makers, health care providers and consumers have an increased understanding of asthma and treat and manage asthma effectively. A Statewide Public/Private Collaboration exists to shape, implement and monitor New York's action which will improve asthma outcomes in New York.
