The Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies was founded in 1935 to:Bring together professionals in denominations and other religious bodies who gather and publish statistics on their groupsFurnish a forum for the exchange of ideas, problems, and methodsSeek greater standardization in religious statistical dataASARB holds an annual conference to facilitate these goals. The 2010 meeting will be held October 12-13 in the Kansas City area. Members represent more than 25 religious organizations. ASARB also sponsors the Religious Congregations Membership Study, which every ten years provides a comprehensive portrait of religious affiliation of people in every state and county across the United States.
