Association of Assistance to Children and Young People with Disabilities Information

Belarusian Association of Assistance to Children and Young People with Disabilities (BelAPDIiMI) provides psychological, social and legal support to families raising children and young people with disabilities. The Belarusian Association of Assistance to Children and Young People with Disabilities was founded in 1994 by the parents of disabled children as a response to the extreme exclusion of people with disabilities from all areas of social life. “BelAPDIiMI” unites more than 3500 families of children with mental and physical disabilities and comprises of 56 regional and 9 Minsk member associations in six Belarus regions. Due to a severe lack of specialists to work with children with any degree of disability and few educational centers in Belarus, the organization also provides rehabilitation and health care activities, professional education and spare time activities.
