Assembly Design Studio Information

Assembly Design Studio takes a human-centric approach, using the built environment, art, and graphic design to shape the spaces and places that inspire us. Led by Denise Cherry, Liz Guerrero, and Omar Toro-Vaca, Assembly crafts custom spaces and provides global design strategies for clients such as Uber, Pinterest, and Cisco. As the Global Interior Design Consultant for Uber, Assembly provides design oversight for their offices and spearheads the design of their headquarters worldwide, including the San Francisco Mission Bay Headquarters, the renovation of Oakland’s Sears Building, and the Advanced Technology Center in Pittsburgh. Assembly’s first urban-scale project in Detroit, Michigan, where the firm’s pro-bono partnership with Human Scale Studio, the Corktown Economic Development Corporation, and community leaders from Mexicantown will build a community-led campaign to redesign Roosevelt Park. At Assembly, we are driven by our innate curiosity to understand our clients and community and to translate their DNA into bold, clever designs. We do it by having a scrappy, resilient, anything-is-possible attitude and by working hard to uncover solutions, even if doing so makes us uncomfortable. We love the big idea but even more we love understanding the craftsmanship and details that bring a project to life. It’s how we were assembled and how we plan to change the space of design, again.
