ASET The Work Based and Placement Learning Association Information

ASET provides day to day support for ALL staff working in the area of work experience - whether that is placements, work based learning or internships. Our aims are to : * Advise on best practice, providing training and staff development opportunities for the dissemination of good practice across the sector * Prepare, develop and publish information and research relating to work based and placement learning * Provide strategic leadership and a national voice as a central agency * Champion the concept of work based and placement learning * Offer informed and authoritative representation, advice and support to all professionals working in the field * Provide a forum for groups and individuals to discuss and formulate policies We represent over 130 Higher Education Providers in the UK, and our communications reach over 2000 individual practitioners. Many ASET members are UK based Higher Education Providers, and unlike many other subscription organisations, our Institutional Membership covers every single member of staff in the organisation. We also offer Corporate Membership status to employers and placement support agencies. Members receive discounted access to our staff development events throughout the year, as well as to the annual residenti conference in the autumn. Members also have free access to Regional Hub events and exclusive access to the ASET Placement and Employability Professionals LinkedIn group. In addition members can apply for our bursaries and students from ASET member institutions are eligible to enter our annual competition which collates positive experiences of placement with cash prizes awarded.
