Harku vald on Tallinnast läänes asuv üle 18 tuhande elanikuga omavalitsus, kus on 22 kilomeetrit merepiiri. Idast piirneb vald Harku järve ja Tallinna linnaga, lõunast Saue vallaga ning edelast ning läänest Keila linna ja Lääne-Harju vallaga. Harku vallas on 22 küla ja 2 alevikku.
