The PURPOSE of A.R.T.S. is to spark the creative spirit of at-risk women and children by introducing the arts—music, art and dance—into their everyday lives. Our programs use the arts as a tool to inspire, build confidence and self-esteem and ultimately offer a way to heal from the effects of abuse and poverty. Our goal is to help break the cycle and nurture better lives. Studies have shown incorporating creative arts at a young age can have positive mental health benefits ranging from the development of self-expression and self esteem to increasing overall academic performance and opportunities for social contact and participation.
