The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia is a foundation under public law, funded by the Federal Government of Switzerland. With a focus on diversity and high quality, Pro Helvetia promotes artistic creation in Switzerland as well as networking and cultural exchange abroad. Pro Helvetia supports projects on four levels: on the basis of applications, via its network of cultural centres and liaison offices abroad, within the framework of its own programmes and through information and promotional materials.

We are involved in cooperative development projects in India, Myanmar, Tanzania, Chad, Niger, Guinea-Bissau, Ecuador and Colombia. SWISSAID has committed itself to the disadvantaged people in the Southern Hemisphere – especially in those areas where there are no other organisations on hand to help them. With your donation, we battle for the right of all people to lead their lives without hunger, need and oppression. We work exclusively with local partners to give small farmers and their families a helping hand so they can go on to sustain themselves over the long term. We do not shy away from showdowns with multinationals, major land owners or organisations that are polluting the environment either. This is always done with the aim of emboldening defenceless local people and giving them the ability to help themselves.
