Círculo del Arte is located in the heart of Barcelona’s Old Town, very close to the Picasso Museum and the Church of Santa María del Mar. We are a club of collectors and friends of art, and we offer our members and clients original visual art by contemporary artists, fine arts photographs, and illustrated books for the collector. The club was born in Barcelona in 1994 on the initiative of a group of artists, publishers, and gallerists of international renown. The main aim is to make available original visual artworks by great creators and to promote the collecting of high-quality prints of different types. Among the original group were painters such as Antonio Saura and Eduardo Arroyo, art historian and ex-director of the Prado Francisco Calvo Serraller, the gallerist and publisher Roland Haenssel of Stuttgart, and publisher Hans Meinke, the current director of Círculo del Arte. The Club’s current collection is comprised of works by highly known international artists such as Chillida, Tàpies, Miró, Dalí, Beuys, Antonio Saura, Carlos Saura, Günter Grass, Rafael Canogar, Javier Mariscal, José Hernández, Rafael Alberti, Valerio Adami and many others.
