Gray Monk Estate Winery is the oldest family owned and operated winery in the Okanagan Valley. The Heiss family’s commitment to quality wines and to providing an outstanding visitor experience is reflected in all aspects of the winery. Gray Monk Estate Winery will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2012. Owned and operated by the Heiss family–George, Trudy and their sons Bob, George Jr. and Steven–the winery is located in the Okanagan Valley, north of the city of Kelowna, surrounded by their 50-acre vineyard and a spectacular lake view. The Heiss family has been among the pioneers of British Columbia’s wine industry since 1972, growing grapes and supporting the promotion of BC’s world famous VQA wines. In 1998 the family was honoured with the Founder Award from the Okanagan Wine Festival Society for their outstanding contributions to British Columbia’s unique wine-growing region.
