The Alliance for Resilience in Healthcare (ARHC) was established in response to a recurring pattern observed in post-disaster recovery: while immediate relief is often robust, long-term healthcare systems frequently struggle to stabilize. ARHC was founded by a coalition of healthcare systems experts and emergency management professionals who recognized that "recovery" often failed to address the systemic fragmentation that occurs after the initial first responders leave. The organization was built on the principle that resilience is not just the presence of resources, but the strength of the connections between them. By formalizing a methodology to bridge the gap between emergency aid and sustainable local care, ARHC was created to ensure that disaster-affected communities don't just recover, but evolve.
