Areopagus is a campus ministry based on these propositions: The Christian message has continuing relevance to the context of higher education Learning and faith should work together and complement each other in the Christian life The work we do at the university-learning, teaching, researching and serving-should be an integral part of our Christian walk Areopagus is named for the hill in Athens were St. Paul reasoned with the Greek philosophers in Acts 17. We chose this name because we seek to proclaim the gospel within the context of higher education and in conversation with the people who work there. The Areopagus ministry director is Randy Gabrielse (Ph.D., Michigan State, 2002).
