Arenal Observatory Lodge & Spa is an eco-lodge located in La Fortuna, Costa Rica, only 1.7 miles from the south flank of the Arenal Volcano. The 870 acre property traverses two distinct ecological zones, the tropical forests of the Caribbean lowlands and the submontane forests of the Caribbean foothills, and is encompassed by the Arenal Volcano National Park. The lodge is a nature lovers paradise, whether you are a dedicated birdwatcher, photographer or simply just enjoy being surrounded by wilderness. 7 miles of well-maintained trails provide unparalleled access to the forests of Costa Rica. These trails are the perfect place to observe wildlife. In-fact, over 400 different species of birds have been identified at the lodge, making in one of the best locations for birding in Costa Rica. The lodge has 48 comfortable rooms as well as two spacious villas that are perfect for family vacations. All of the rooms have stunning views of either Arenal Volcano, Arenal Lake, the tropical forest, or the extravagant gardens that permeate the property. Five of the rooms, the pool, and a portion of the trails are all fully equipped for physically disabled guests. The Observatory Bar & Restaurant provides delicious locally and internationally inspired cuisine that will delight your tastebuds.
