Mark Milicich is the CEO/President, Arcticuss, LLC He has over thirty five years of military, homeland security and business expertise in both government and the private sector in the fields of infrastructure protection, financial and commercial services. He joined the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in June 2003, he served as the Deputy Director of Planning/Mission Analysis and the Deputy Director for Operations for the Protective Security Division (now known as the Protective Security Coordination Division). In July 2004, he was selected as the pilot Protective Security Advisor (PSA) with a primary mission of security for critical infrastructure; he played an invaluable role in developing a National Program from concept to deployment of 68 PSAs in 60 offices across America. After the deployment of the 68 PSAs, he assisted with managing the program from June 2005 to June 2006 and in addition, he maintained his duties as the Southern Virginia (VA) PSA. As the Southern VA PSA from July 2004 to September 2014, he supported homeland security efforts, serving in an advising and reach-back capacity to state Homeland Security Advisors. He supported specials events such as Super Bowls, a G-8 Summit, a NASCAR Race, and Presidential & Gubernatorial Inaugurations and natural disasters such as Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Wilma, Ike and other incidents of national significance. He served in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) for 20 years, retiring in October 2000. He was an Air Traffic Controller from 1980-1984 and a Combat Controller for the last 16 years of his career. From February 1993 to October 2000, he served as the USAF Team Superintendent/ Naval Warfare Liaison at the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Virginia Beach, VA. After retirement from the USAF, from October 2000 to June 2003, as a Series 7 & 63 Securities License holder, he worked for two financial companies researching, analyzing, and trading equities.
