Salmon is Execution Verification Infrastructure (EVI) for autonomous systems. Salmon is a cryptographic protocol and infrastructure that establishes verifiable execution history and state lineage across humans, AI agents and automation. As software becomes autonomous and multi-actor, identity, authorization and observability answer important questions about who is acting, what an actor may do and what systems observe. Execution Verification addresses a different question: What actually executed, and can that history be independently verified? Salmon captures execution as signed events, records state transitions, and produces a cryptographically verifiable execution record and state lineage. The result is machine-consumable execution evidence that other systems can use. Salmon establishes the execution record. Other systems reason from it. Salmon is developed by Archipelo and grew out of its work on Developer Security Posture Management (DevSPM) and software actor attribution. As AI evolved from assisting developers to executing actions across tools, credentials and infrastructure, our work expanded from identifying software actors to making their execution history verifiable. DevSPM made software actors observable. Salmon makes their execution history verifiable. As software becomes autonomous, execution history becomes infrastructure.
