What is Archer? The term Archer refers to hitting your target and achieving your goals. Archer was Founded by a group of individuals dedicated to making a difference in the world. In 1985 Archer developed a leadership program for teens and youth at risk called "Step into the Future". This nationally recognized program was delivered to several thousand teens throughout the United States and Canada.In 1995 Archer began developing its Vision 2020 animal welfare programs to address the problem of overpopulation. Through our adoption programs well over a thousand homeless pets have been placed into loving homes, but the ultimate solution lies in the continuation of our aggressive spay/neuter program combined with animal responsibility education.In order to increase the available homes for people who want pets, we have developed a home ownership assistance program for seniors and other fixed income individuals who want to adopt pets but are unable to because of rent restrictions.Through our housing assistance program we assist seniors and others with special needs to obtain low cost housing. Working with experts in the mortgage and real estate professions, we are made aware of individuals or families that need assistance with buying a home. Following guidelines set by the government agencies and financial institutions, Archer is able to provide financial assistance to prospective homeowners so that they can fulfill their dream of home ownership.We are planning to develop a program for at-risk teens in which we will provide them with marketable skills by training them in the various construction trades in our housing restoration projects.The members of the Archer Foundation, including international actor and director Steven Seagal, are committed to accomplishing our Vision 2020 goal. But the person whose help we need the most is YOU! Many more of us need to get involved to make Vision 2020 a reality. This is one of the few problems facing our society that can be conquered in a short period of time. You can make a difference in saving the lives of innocent animals.
