Arc Innovations (Arc) led the introduction of smart metering services in New Zealand. From our home here in Christchurch we developed technology that has huge value for customers. For the first time, consumers can track and manage their energy spend. Launched in 2003 as a standalone subsidiary of Meridian Energy, Arc Innovations has been a leading innovator of hardware, software and service solutions encompassing electronic metering, multiple communications technologies (cellular, radio frequency or RF and also satellite) and a world-class Canterbury developed back-office and field services system. To date Arc has provided in excess of 10 million electronic meter reads.
