Aqua Development is an aquaculture technology company. We design and operate enclosed, modular shrimp farms that produce clean, traceable shrimp inside the markets that consume it. Shrimp is a USD 72 billion market with a structural problem: it is farmed almost entirely in a handful of tropical countries and eaten almost everywhere else. The United States imports roughly 90% of the shrimp it consumes. Open-pond production carries the costs that come with it — disease, routine antibiotic use, cleared coastal mangrove, and a frozen supply chain measured in oceans. Our platform addresses those costs directly. A patented modular tank moves water through four filtration stages under a single return pump, and a patented air-lifting venturi dissolves oxygen through pipe geometry rather than installed compressor power. Together they target the two expenses that have closed most indoor shrimp ventures. Four patents are granted — two in Korea (KR 10-2464937, KR 10-2464938) and two in the United States (US 12,232,487, US 12,575,548) — with protection running to July 2041 and two further applications under examination in Europe. The hardware is joined to six years of biological protocols and a data and machine-vision layer. Nothing enters an AD tank but shrimp, feed and water: no antibiotics, no therapeutic chemicals. The system is sealed, discharges almost no effluent, and occupies no coastal mangrove. Aqua Development has operated a commercial farm at Gochang, Republic of Korea since 2020. At Mastorah on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, a 1,000-tonne facility developed with the Saudi Agricultural Development Fund and a local partner is complete and preparing to stock. Further projects are scoped across the Gulf, Japan and Europe. Founded in Seoul in 2019, with roots in shrimp-farming research dating to 2017.
