Approach Analytics Information

Approach Analytics Inc. is a Canadian AI research company based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Incorporated in 2016, the company began developing nutrition Apps and pragmatic trial support and has since evolved into applied AI and biomedical research infrastructure. Our current work focuses on context-based AI methods for interpreting complex biological systems, with a primary focus on the regulatory genome — the non-coding majority of DNA that helps control how genes respond to environment, stress, diet, infection, and aging. We are building the Atlas of Regulatory Diversity: an ancestry-aware measurement layer for regulatory genomics. The Atlas is designed to support clinical-trial design, and AI-mediated health interpretation. Approach’s core AI method was first developed and tested in language and AI behavior research, where it was used to study how large language models respond under emotionally charged conditions. We now apply the same context-learning approach to regulatory genomics, where the goal is to make the “dark genome” more measurable and explainable for the research community.
