The Open Training and Education Network, OTEN, is the largest provider of distance education and vocational training in Australia. OTEN is part of the award winning TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute, national winner of the 2010 Large Training Provider and 2011 Skills for Sustainability at the Australian Training Awards. We offer world-class distance education services and products to more than 60,000 students in over 200 TAFE NSW courses. These courses give our graduates nationally recognised qualifications through the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). These qualifications are highly valued by industry and the wider community both in Australia and internationally.

FINDERS, KEEPERS: Nova Employment places people with disabilities into employment. But that’s just part of our job. Once we find our jobseekers a position, we help them keep it. We know that enjoying your job is good for you so we aim to sustain people through meaningful work. We do this by: • getting to know our jobseekers • discovering the roles they might enjoy • training & coaching jobseekers to be job ready • sourcing suitable roles and employers • maintaining a pool of interested employers • guiding the jobseeker through the first days, weeks, months, of their new position • supporting them and their employer for as long as they need it. SELF SERVICE: Our staff are connected to the best international research, discussions, ideas, models and people in the field of disability employment. We invest in staff training so that we can provide the products and services jobseekers have come to expect from Nova Employment. In a nutshell our comprehensive staff training includes: • formal training to at least Certificate IV standard. • support for further training; some have completed tertiary studies • at least one full week’s formal in-house training per year.
