APERT (Applied Electronics Research Team) is a research group at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), carrying out its activity mainly at the Bilbao School of Engineering. Our team brings together professors and researchers in applied electronics, combining academic excellence with close collaboration with industry and public institutions. Our work spans public-funded and industry-driven R&D projects, contract research, specialised training for companies, technology consulting, and expert technical assessment. We also contribute to doctoral training, international publications, conferences, and innovation-oriented research outcomes. APERT’s research focuses on two main areas: reconfigurable digital systems and Systems-on-Chip, including secure and reliable communications, and power and control electronics for energy conversion. These activities address real-world challenges in fields such as electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, smart grids, industrial digitalisation, and advanced scientific applications. At APERT, we aim to bridge advanced electronics research and practical impact, developing solutions that contribute to more secure digital systems and more efficient energy technologies.
